It seems that the ftp port (as well as the smtp port) are closed down at the location i'm using right now, so i cannot post pictures.
Though, i'd really love to.
Christmas with palmtrees and warmth is something unique to me and it definetly feels strange.
For now, i'm just about to leave to go camping(!) in the desert (!) and then for a roadtrip along the Westcoast beach of California(!!) - namely Santa Barbara and then up to San Francisco.
Though, there's so much work that i have to do in the coming week that i think about staying in the desert altogether.
And then back to New York again
And then back to Stuttgart again.
And then back to Linz again.
And then back to Stuttgart again.
And then back to Madrid...
...
.

On another note, i am most happy to be filed under the "top 5 machinima movies" at Matt Henson's weblog "eternal gaze".
Matt Henson is the guy who "does" onedotzero, and wrote a gazillion books on motion graphics.

Some of you also noticed my appearance in several printed publications (thanks a ton Pascale for the scans!), including FOCUS(!), PC Gamer UK, PC Powerplay (a childhood dream come true !?!) and PCgo.
There are some more international webmags that supposedly have machinima stuff in them, hmagazine is one of them (i sent them pictures some time ago...) and maybe Masanori will write something for SHIFT.
And, of course, rumour has it that SCEEN will have some printed material from the latest machinimag and all the online issues on the DVD of their long awaited ISSUE 2!!
!

There's some more selbstbeweihräucherung but i don't keep track of that stuff.
I just couldn't sleep and couldn't give you any pictures, so i thought i'd blurp what's on my mind.

i feel more and more that photography becomes one of the few ways that i feel i can express what's going on inside my head. Not necessarily that other people would know about that when looking at my pictures (it's always hard to tell what other people are thinking) but when i look at what i did and where i've been, it gives me a feeling of being alive, like a proof of me actually existing and living.
Maybe, if i would spend more time outside or working with my hands that would be different. I don't know.

This day strangely feels like sunset. To a year full of so many things that i hastly stepped over and people that i lost contact with.

Anyway, i look forward to some time off. Off of everything.
This time, New York grew close to me, or i grew close to new york, whatever. Especially Brooklyn seemed much more like a lovely place to live in than it was when i first came here.
A lovely city in a strange country.

Merry Christmas to all of you. Especially my family (i hope all are well).

I am SO going to miss this cat. Even though he loves scratching and recently attacked my throat, whenever he's asleep it's ust totally meditative.
And you can move him around and he doesn't care.
achhhh...

he seems to like the ventilation of my laptop...

machinimag seven is released, at last. It feels good everytime something gets actually finished. But this time it felt so "good" that ot keot me from sleeping. And i feel wasted now.
My computer keeps crashing which is bad and i still got SO much to do and so little time. It's a shame i can't do much more in New York but sit around and write code.
Will this ever end? No, of course not.
Oh, it's good that the cat is around. He reminds me of a different way of life...
Though i don't want to complain. I mean. I can't, really. It's just a lot of work, so i better get busy again.

Go get to machinimag seven here.
Comments, via eMail or phone or letter or whatever, are always very welcome. Please, talk to me!

First Snow in New York this year. Although there was a bit of snow last week, it didn't really last long enough to talk about. This time it seems for real.

I have not been writing much lately as there is just far too much to work on and i didn't really get to take any pictures or write anything down.
First, i have been commisioned to do an interactive installation work for the ARCO - art exhibit in Madrid as part of the Ars Electronica's presence there.
Thus, I'd better finish my project description and send in some screenshots...

Then, of course, there's MovieSandbx. A machinima Tool for the unreal engine that let's you script your pawns or whatever else inside the game in realtime (and runs on mac and linux as well!). Linked to that are about a gazillion other nice little things that would be awesome to do, but i'll be happy once i finished a basic version of that.

Then, Bob Block will get some touch ups to make him a bit more promising. After all, there's lots we want to do with him. And again, millions of ideas that could turn him into someone worth watching.

Finally, there's machinimag. Almost ready, lacking only a bit more time to work on it REALLY should be finished this weekend.
What kind of makes me think a lot in the last couple of days is that although i do so much work, i'm still lacking the resources to afford spending time on working on what i want to do.Does that make any sense?
Anyhow, I'd better get some funding...

Oh, and comments are not working and are therefore removed. I'll look into that next year.

Some more pictures from the time i've been ill. I still feel not 100% back up again.
The weather is nice though. Strangely warm and clear. I wonder what's next.
Anyway, here's a couple of pictures from the little fella called "Mole," Rik's cat.

I've been upstate in Troy for the last two days. I'll upload some photos from the "Fair game" event i was allowed to take part in soon.
But now, i have to head for the airport...
