There's some catching up to do with pictures, so here we go.
The following pics were taken on the 24th of December LAST year, christmas eve, during a walk on the beach...

it was foggy, but warm. Actually the fog helped to not totally forget that it was actually christmas eve...
But walking around barefeet in the sand did not really help to put you in the right mood...

Though, the Californians tried their best to make up for that:

Some impressions of San Diego, starting with a view through a hole in the pier of Pacific Beach...

and followed by some impressions of what most of San Diego actually looks like.

The next set of images was taken in the Borrego Desert near Palm Springs, during a two-night trip between christmas and new year's.

well, no pictures of new year's celebration, as there wasn't really that much going on over here. But i have two more pics of downtown san Diego taken from outside the trainstation just before we left for Santa Barbara...

on this...

and then Santa Barbera and the East Beach Inn, a quite affordable and nice place, unfortunately with horrible Karma in the rooms, or maybe it was just the pillows...
Here's a look outside the huge window:

and a view of the beach on what the residents called "the first really nice day in weeks"...

the last two photos were taken on the Starliner train up the coast to Stanford. I could have taken more pictures of strange things rushing by, but i kind of didn't really, like, have my camera, like, ready. Plus, the train was about three hours late, so a lot of the travelling took place after sunset.
